ICDL Americas organised its first Regional ICDL Forum – Digital Skills for a Competitive Workforce the past March 24th, an online bilingual English / Spanish event, with speakers from Latin America, the Caribbean and representatives from our international network.

The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) mission is “to contribute to the transformation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in order to respond to their social and political contexts, while building and creating common spaces of Inter-American collaboration”.
This week begins in Chile the 2021 edition of the CAIE (Conference of the Americas on International Education) organized by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI – IOHE). This Forum exhibits close collaboration between higher education institutions and national, regional and international organizations, offering a platform from which to address current challenges, emerging trends and promote best practices in international education.

On September 22, the first world-class International Digital Talent Symposium: axis of sustainable development was held, organized by the Sectorial Table for Technology and Digital Talent Management of SENA, the National Learning Service of Colombia. Together with our partners FaceIT, ICDL participated with two presentations from the ICDL Foundation.
The Test Centre at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, Mexico, continues its training and certification programmes for students and teachers
The ICDL Accredited Test Centre at the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) began its operation in 2014 with a vision towards the importance of incorporating international certifications in digital skills in undergraduate and graduate educational programmes, complementing the professional training of students based on the new demands of the labour market. UAT’s Test Centre has attended a total of 1560 candidates.
The Universidad Panamericana de Guatemala (UPANA) offers a complete higher education system. With the aim of contributing to the development of the country, through innovative options for university training and professionalization with high standards of academic quality. Its mission is “To contribute to sustainable integral development, training competent professionals with Christian principles and values”.
ICDL Americas participated on the virtual Caribbean Digital Skills Symposium last April 7th and 8th. The event, organised by Regional Consultant Jenelle Ross-McIntyre, had the goal of exploring the potentials of digital skills for regional development.
