ICDL AMERICAS AND INFOPLAZAS AIP SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING


Last week, during this year ECDL Foundation forum, ICDL Americas signed aMemorandum of Understanding with Infoplaza AIP, based in Panama, with the aim of working together in projects of dissemination, training and certification of digital skills for workers and the community, such as part of its objective to establish itself as a point of support and impulse for the development and implementation of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) that will allow a large scale reduction of the digital, economic and social gap in the country.

The Infoplazas are community centres for Internet access and information where citizens find several kinds of technologies. Whose mission is not only to promote and participate in the development and use of ICTs as tools to reduce the digital divide that exists in Panama, but to democratize access to knowledge, in order to promote social and economic development within a fairer globalized society and human.

Luis Cisneros, director of Infoplazas AIP and Damien O’Sullivan, CEO of ICDL Foundation, agreed that this will be a first step to strengthen the work of both organizations in pursuit of the development of Panama.
