ICDL Americas attended 16th Virtual Educa event, one of the major international events in education, innovation and information and communication technology in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. The event brought together ministers, the government and corporate sector, representatives of international organisations and cooperation agencies.
Virtual Educa took place in Guadalajara, Mexico from June 22 to June 26. ICDL Americas was part of the seminar, ‘Education, evaluation and teacher certification’ organised by the Inter-American Teacher Education Network (RIED – Red Interamericana de Educación Docente). There, the ICDL Americas Regional Development Executive, Romina González, talked about the importance of digital literacy and the certification of digital skills.
Additionally, ICDL Americas promoted the ‘Prove your digital skills’ competition, where contestants were able to demonstrate their digital literacy skills. Each participant had ten minutes to solve the widest possible set of questions and exercises. The winner was given a XO tablet with an interface prepared for all the family.
