For the past 8 years, the consulting firm Sapiens Research has developed a ranking of the best schools in Colombia, thus helping people, families, teachers, managers and institutions to make better decisions. Currently, the Col-Sapiens ranking is the most important classification of schools in the country, according to category, quality and international accreditation, and the classifieds appear there exclusively for their academic merits.
Thanks to the work of our FaceIT Foundation Local Partners, since 2021, the ICDL digital skills certification allows adding points to institutions that are part of this ranking.
In its most recent edition, the 2021 ranking, it is noted that of the 13,698 schools in Colombia, only 924 classified according to their academic performance (6%). “The schools that classified in this ninth version were those that obtained the A + category (according to ICFES), in the two immediately preceding years (2019-2020, both years), with a total index equal to or greater than 0.79.”
As part of the ranking methodology, educational institutions add points to their qualification if they are accredited or certified by international firms, in this case, of the 924 schools, Col-Sapiens expresses “only 462 (50%) reached any of the 5 qualifications, which start from AAA ++ (the highest), to A (the least high) for being certified and / or accredited by any of the firms recognized by the Ministry of National Education or by those that are taken into account in the methodology of this ranking and that they have international influence.
